After the false keel is completely dry, I remove the clamps, and glue it on center to the bottom of the canoe. When it's in place, and the glue is set, I sand away the end, until it is flush with the deck caps. The canoe is now complete! It is a lot more sturdy now, and a final sanding is required. Once everything is sanded well, I spray the whole thing several times with Deft semi-gloss lacquer, and it's ready for display!
